The pyramids are a half day. The reason to come is the stretch of temples between Luxor and Aswan, and the Red Sea for diving.

What not to miss in Egypt
- Karnak and the Valley of the KingsBigger than the pyramids and far less visited. Go at opening, before the coaches.
- A felucca on the NileA night or two sailing between Aswan and Kom Ombo, sleeping on deck.
- The Red SeaDahab and Marsa Alam. Warm, cheap, and among the best diving anywhere.
- The Grand Egyptian MuseumEverything from Tutankhamun's tomb in one building, next to the pyramids.
